Invasive species such as such as phragmites, burning bush, multiflora rose, wineberry, and oriental bittersweet are expected to become more problematic in tidal swamps under climate change, especially in combination with other disturbances.

There are many invasive plant species, insect pests, and forest diseases that have negative impacts on tidal swamp forests, many of which are expected to increase through the direct and indirect effects of climate change.
